On May 31st, Sunburst SoundLab unveils its latest Deep House release: No Light Above — a meticulously crafted full-length album that marks a new chapter in the studio’s sonic storytelling.
While Deep House has long been part of the Sunburst SoundLab catalogue, No Light Above stands apart as a cohesive, concept-driven experience. From start to finish, it invites the listener on a deliberate journey through silence, shadow, rhythm, and resurgence.
This album is a carefully designed experience. Each track flows into the next, guiding the listener through moments of stillness, subtle rhythm, fragile beauty, and quiet power. The sound is immersive, moody, and melodic — shaped by icy textures, warm pulses, and distant echoes.
A Sonic Landscape
The album opens in cold and quiet spaces, with instrumental pieces that breathe slowly and deeply. Gradually, the pulse emerges — soft percussive movements, and swelling synths, and delicate vocals create a journey from detachment to emotional renewal.
10 original tracks — plus one bonus track — the listener is taken through frozen cities, fading memories, and glimmers of hope. There’s restraint, but also release. Quiet, but never empty.
A Unified Visual Identity
The album cover shows a solitary figure standing by a vast fjord, as a ray of light breaks through the clouds. This scene captures the core of No Light Above: solitude, reflection, and a subtle return to life. Each song has its own visual world, with thumbnails designed to feel like chapters of the same story — each one tied to nature, silence, and motion.
A Statement from the Studio
“This album is for those who’ve waited in stillness, felt too much, or nothing at all. It’s for those who’ve sat beneath clouded skies and listened for the first sign of rhythm. Music can be both refuge and return — and this is ours.”— Sunburst SoundLab
